From genuinely flexible work hours to options that promote better health and wellbeing, we’re committed to providing our staff with a wide range of benefits. Some, like our four-day volunteer leave program, are best in class, punching well above industry standard.
Extra leave options
AEMO employees have access to a range of extra leave options. These include the ability to purchase additional annual leave days and access to parental leave allowances.
Flexibility is one of the things our employees consistently tell us they enjoy about AEMO. Based on the business needs, AEMO can offer flexible working arrangements, like part-time hours, working from home days, or in some circumstances, job-sharing between employees.
AEMO’s flexible working arrangements are assessed on a case-by-case basis, however, we encourage prospective employees to openly discuss their need for a flexible arrangement.
Health and wellbeing
AEMO is committed to delivering a workplace that is healthy, safe and sustainable. Our Health and Wellbeing Program is designed to provide employees with health-related activities that are educational, relevant, exciting and fun, while reducing health risks.
If you need an excuse to hit the gym, we offer a corporate gym partnership program, and also provide access to discounted private health insurance through providers such as Bupa, NIB, Medibank and HBF.
AEMO offers competitive market-based remuneration, supplemented by organisation-based annual performance bonuses. Various salary packaging options are available.
An AEMO enterprise agreement covers all employees up to senior management level, providing for annual salary increases closely aligned to CPI.
Salary continuance insurance
As a permanent staff member under the age of 65 who works at least 15 hours a week, you will be eligible for salary continuance insurance, covering you in the case of sickness or injury. AEMO covers this cost on behalf of eligible employees.
We value people who strive to learn throughout their careers. AEMO aims to support employees undertaking tertiary or further study by providing either financial assistance for course fees or study leave for tuition during business hours – or both – depending on individual situations.
AEMO is one of the few organisations in Australia to offer up to four days’ volunteering leave per year as part of our Healthy Communities Corporate Social Responsibility Program. Spend time on us to work with an agreed charity organisation or cause that you feel strongly about.

Flexibility equals a happier team
“Enabling flexibility means it’s easier for people to balance out their personal commitments. It makes for a much happier team and can take some of the stress away from the work environment.”
